Badge
The badge of the Military Order of Christ is a Latin cross, such as that of the Templars, in red enamel, edged in gold, with an overlapping Latin cross in white enamel.
The colour of the Order is red.
CLASSES
Grand Cross
Insignia
Riband: riband in red silk, placed across the chest from right to left, with the badge hanging from the bow.
Star: golden star with rays, with a disc in white enamel on the centre overlapped by the cross of the Order, edged in gold and surrounded by a golden laurel festoon.
The star is always used with the Riband of the Grand Cross. The miniature and the rosette are also part of the insignia of the Grand Cross, with the colour of the Order and a gold braid.

Grand Officer
Insignia
Ribbon / Bow: the badge of the Order suspended from the neck by a red ribbon, or from a bow, for the ladies.
Star: golden star with rays, with a disc in white enamel on the centre overlapped by the cross of the Order, edged in gold and surrounded by a golden laurel festoon.
The miniature and the rosette are also part of a Grand Officer’s insignia, with the colour of the Order and a gold and silver braid.

Commander
Insignia

Officer
Insignia
Medal / Bow: a single cross, suspended from a red ribbon, with a golden buckle, or bow, for the ladies, with a red rosette placed on the buckle or on the bow’s knot.
The miniature and the rosette with the colour of the Order are also part of an Officer’s insignia. In ceremonial acts Officers may wear, hanging from the neck by a red ribbon, a badge with the same size as the Commander’s.

Knight/Dame
